Willy Richmond

Artist's Statement

I am a life long resident of Hannibal, Missouri and am witnessing the world of art making its presence known in our community.

I started taking pictures in 1980 when I purchased my first 35mm camera. Since that time, the birth of digital technology has made a profound change to the world of photography.

The digital age is nothing less than phenomenal. It has eliminated many of the processes required to create a photograph which allows more time to experiment with new idea's.

My favorite subject has become abstract shots of simple subject matter with no computer enhancements.

The world of abstract allows me to create art in a common medium that is individually unique.
